What won the race: Winning an early back-and-forth battle between front-row starters, Jason Jameson of Lawrenceburg, Ind., pulled away Thursday at Mudlick Valley Raceway for a $10,000 Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series victory. Jameson took the checkers 2.009 seconds ahead of Mike Marlar in the 40-lapper while Michael Chilton, who swapped the early lead with Jameson, settled for fifth.
Key notes: Jameson notched his fourth career Iron-Man victory. ... His previous series victory came Sept. 14, 2024, at his hometown Lawrenceburg Speedway just days after the passing of his longtime crew chief, Jeff Gullett. ... Jameson notched his second five-figure payday of the season; he won $10,071 in Northern Allstars action April 18 at Paragon (Ind.) Speedway. ... Runner-up Mike Marlar was aiming for his second victory in as many visits to Mudlick Valley this season. ... Fifth-finishing Michael Chilton, a $5,000 winner last month at Mudlick Valley, led laps 1-2 and again on lap 4, while Jameson led the rest of the way. ... Cautions slowed the race on laps 15 (twice), 35 and 36. ... The feature started just before 11:30 p.m. and ended just before midnight. ... A medical emergency early in the program delayed action to allow the ambulance to return. ... The 4B4EVER honored Jackie Boggs of Grayson, Ky., a standout racer who captured three victories each on the Lucas Oil and World of Outlaws tours, including countless wins at the local and regional levels; Boggs died on Oct. 24, 2020, at the age of 51. … The four previous renditions were held unsanctioned at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex in Peebles, Ohio.
