What won the race: Home-track standout Dave Hess Jr. of Waterford, Pa., led all but two laps Sunday at Eriez Speedway to earn $4,100 in purse money at the unsanctioned Mike Farr Memorial for the second straight season. The third-starting Hess, who took the lead from Bump Hedman on the third of 41 laps, took the checkers ahead of fellow second-row starter Max Blair and Chub Frank at the 3/8-mile oval.
Key notes: Winner Dave Hess Jr. earned more than $2,300 in lap money to go along with his $4,100 purse winnings. ... Hess, winner three nights earlier in Jay's Automotive United Late Model Series action at The Dirt Track at Genesee in Batavia, N.Y., snapped the personal two-race winning streak of runner-up Max Blair, who collected a $10,010 victory Friday at McKean County Raceway in East Smethport, Pa., as well as $10,318 on Saturday at Stateline Speedway in Busti, N.Y. … Eriez fast qualifier and polesitter Levi Yetter finished 10th. ... Eleven drivers completed 41 laps. ... Chevy Scott scratched from the Eriez feature. ... The race was originally slated to be ULMS sanctioned and pay $6,041-to-win. … The event honors hometowner Mike Farr, a former competitor at Eriez and later a shock specialist who founded Genesis Shocks. Farr helped NASCAR teams and local racers throughout his career. He died Oct. 7, 2016, at 65. ... Breyton Santee won the Crate Late Model feature.
