Kyle Bronson and his team picked up $10,000 at East Alabama.
What won the race: In a reversal of the previous night's finishing order, Kyle Bronson of Brandon, Fla., commanded all 50 laps and held off fellow Floridian Mark Whitener to win Saturday's $10,000 unsanctioned Super Late Model feature at East Alabama Motor Speedway. Bronson beat Whitener by 1.396 seconds for his first feature victory since April 6, 2024, a Schaeffer's Spring Nationals stop at EAMS.
Key notes: Bronson recently returned to the driver's seat after about a week hiatus as he recovered from an eye injury. ... Mark Whitener beat Bronson to win $10,000 Friday night at Penton (Ala.) Raceway on the first-year Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series. ... The eighth-starting Whitener, of Middleburg, Fla., moved from sixth-to-third on the second lap, then grabbed second from Dalton Cook on lap nine, before trailing Bronson the rest of the way. ... Cook, a two-time EAMS winner this season and track points leader, settled for third. ... Montana Dudley overtook Josh Putnam for fourth on lap 44, relegating Putnam to fifth. ... Spencer Hughes retired from fifth on lap 24 and was credited with ninth. ... The main event was completed without incident and lasted 15 minutes, with six starters completing 50 laps.
