Farmer City Raceway hosts Saturday's $25,000-to-win Illini 100 finale.
Key notes: The World of Outlaws Late Model Series concludes the 19th annual Illini 100 with Saturday’s 60-lap, $25,000-to-win finale at Farmer City Raceway. … Heat races (won by Nick Hoffman, Brandon Sheppard, Trey Mills and Drake Troutman) were eventful with Daulton Wilson rallying from seventh to second in the second heat. ... In the third heat, outside front-row starter Dan Ebert slid into the turn-four wall after Bobby Pierce dove under him — but didn't make contact — in a battle for second. Ebert was OK and made repairs. ... On the restart, Jason Feger grabbed second going into turn one, but Bobby Pierce caught the rear of Feger's car and sent him for a spin. Feger initially believed Dennis Erb Jr. had tagged him, but immediately after the race Pierce came to Feger's pit stall, apparently to apologize. ... In the final heat, polesitter Tyler Erb was clipped exiting turn two by Tristan Chamberlain, send Erb for a spin and into a consolation. A lived Erb argued his case with WoO official in turn two, then with series director Steve Francis in the pits. "You can't make a judgement call," Francis said after Erb headed back to his pit. ... Brandon Sheppard won Friday’s 40-lap, $12,000 opener and enters seeking his fifth career Illini 100 finale (2015, ’17, ’19, ’25), including last year’s $20,000 top prize. Sheppard also topped 2023’s Farmer City 74, worth $25,000 in Lucas Oil Series competition. … Modifieds are on the undercard. … Pits open at noon and grandstands open at 2 p.m with hot laps at 5:30; a driver autograph session will be held at 3:30 and a church outreach service at 4. … Watch live on DIRTVision.
