Derek Fisher captured his third straight Battle of the Bluegrass victory.
What won the race: Derek Fisher of Olympia, Ky., led all 30 laps from the pole in capturing Saturday's $5,000 Steve Kincaid Memorial for an emotional Coltman Farms Racing Battle of the Bluegrass DIRTcar Series victory at 191 Speedway. Fisher beat Brandon Fouts by 0.963 of a second for his third straight Battle of the Bluegrass triumph and second consecutive series win at 191.
Key notes: It was an emotional win for Fisher, as the event honored his former crewman Stephen Kincaid, of Campton, Ky., who died on March 22, 2026, at the age of 50. ... It was Fisher's first feature win since a local Super Late Model show last Sept. 20 at Mudlick Valley Raceway in Wallingford, Ky. ... It's his first major since last Aug. 30's Ultimate Heart of America Series race at 191. ... He's topped all three Battle of the Bluegrass events since the series became active after a 16-year hiatus, including last Fourth of July's $5,000 stop at 191. ... Fisher, who pocketed the night's $246 fast qualifier award honoring Dennis Selby, has now topped 11 specials at 191 going back to the fall of 2013, earning more than $38,000 over that span. ... Brandon Fouts and Zach Hill took advantage of Todd Brennan's slip on a lap-26 restart, moving into second and third, though Fouts finished nearly a second behind Fisher at the line. ... The third-starting Brennan, of Zanesville, Ohio, trailed Fisher from laps 4-25 before settling for fourth. ... Brad Rickels and Garet McCloud each advanced six positions to finish sixth and seventh. ... The race was slowed by five cautions, most notably when sixth-running Seth Daniels was eliminated during the final stoppage on lap 26. ... Fifth-running Shannon Thornsberry and sixth-running Matt Melvin were among those who retired under the fourth caution on lap 22. ... Kirk Phillips and Blake Creech were battling for fifth before retiring under the third slowdown on lap eight. ...
