Charlie McKenna takes the checkers for his first win in nearly three years.
What won the race: Second-starting Charlie McKenna of Ames, Iowa, launched from the outside front row and led all 30 laps largely unchallenged in winning Saturday's Ray Houck Memorial at Adams County Speedway. McKenna beat apparent runner-up Jake Neal to the checkers by 0.647 of a second for the $5,000 payday co-sanctioned between the Malvern Bank East and West tours and his first feature win of the season.

Ray enjoyed Adams County Speedway and promoted racing events at the Corning, Iowa, oval for six years prior to his passing. … Kyle Berck of Marquette, Neb., led the final 10 laps of Friday’s Malvern West-sanctioned stop at Boone County Raceway in Albion, Neb., worth $3,000. It was his tour-leading 100th career West Series victory. Berck enters with eight West victories since the fall of 2013 at Adams County, combining for more than $18,000 over that span. … Justin Zeitner of Malvern, Iowa, has four Adams County specials since June of 2022, earning more than $17,000 since then. … Tad Pospisil of Norfolk, Neb., has five major wins there since June of 2017, worth more than $19,000. … Corey Zeitner of Bellevue, Neb., has two West Series triumphs since June of 2015, earning $6,000. … Watch live on Dirt Crown TV.
