Bobby Pierce picked up the $25,000 check at 141 Speedway.
What won the race: After fending off repeated early challenges from Drake Troutman and surviving a 30-minute rain delay on lap 31, pole-starting Bobby Pierce led all 60 laps of Saturday's Maribel Late Model Showdown at 141 Speedway to collect the $25,000 payday on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. Pierce topped Tim McCreadie by 2.211 seconds at the checkers.
Quotable: "It's very special. I really like the track," Pierce said in victory lane. "Yesterday I heard a lot of drivers were not really happy with it. But I thought it was going to be a fun track. When the rain came, I thought it was going to make for an awesome feature because it got the track really tacky. ... Hope to come back here again sometime soon and have fun again. Toward the end I was getting really loose. Didn't want to see a caution, so I'm glad we didn't have any."
Key notes: The victory marked Pierce's 11th full-field triumph on the WoO tour this season, all coming over the last 24 features, and the 16th overall victory of 2026. It was also Pierce's 53rd career full-field WoO victory. ... Officials placed the program in a holding pattern from approximately 8:10 p.m. CT until about 8:40 for a brief rain shower before ultimately resuming on lap 31. ... Pierce said "we spent about a $1,000 more in tires" putting new tires on during open red flag under the rain delay — "I think everyone did," said Pierce, who added the rain delay was "an awkward situation." Pierce also said his crew fixed up his damaged spoiler under the open red flag: "I do thank them for getting the race in. I mean, I know these fans want to see all 60 laps. It just made it tricky for me because I was in the lead," Pierce said. ... Drake Troutman of Hyndman, Pa., gave Pierce all he could handle early, making multiple bids for the lead before his car went up in smoke on lap 18. Troutman drew even with Pierce at the flagstand on lap 16 and attempted a slide job entering turns one and two the following circuit, but his challenge ended just one lap later with mechanical failure. … Ethan Dotson raced McCreadie hard for second from laps 40-42 until jumping the cushion on lap 43 exiting turn four. He slipped to fourth after Nick Hoffman got by on lap 49. … Two cautions slowed the feature: the first on lap 18 when Troutman's car expired after his battle for the lead, while the second flew on lap 32 when the rain shower halted feature action. … Tristan Chamberlain briefly nosed ahead of Bobby Pierce for the unofficial race lead exiting turn two around the bottom on the initial start, but couldn’t dispatch the top-riding Pierce entering turn three. The Richmond, Ind., driver finished 12th. … Daulton Wilson slowed and trailed heavy smoke after appearing to lose an engine during the night's second heat race. The Fayetteville, N.C., driver salvaged an 11th-place finish after starting 19th in the feature. … Nick Panitzke is entered in Dustin Sorensen's No. 19 Longhorn, as Sorensen had a prior scheduling commitment. Sorensen told DirtonDirt he’ll be back in action Monday at Ogilvie (Minn.) Raceway on the tour. … The Maribel Late Model Showdown was originally scheduled as a two-day program before Friday’s $12,000-to-win opener rained out shortly after time trials were completed. … Dallon Murty of Chelsea, Iowa, won Thursday’s $1,500 Late Model warmup in unsanctioned competition and finish sixth from the 18th-starting spot in Saturday’s feature. … It was the first national touring event at 141 since May 18, 2018, a $12,000 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series stop won by Earl Pearson Jr.
On the move: Dallon Murty of Chelsea, Iowa, started 18th and finished sixth.
