What won the race: Moving from third-to-first with a turn-three slide job past Joseph Joiner on a lap-24 restart, eighth-starting Cody Overton of Thomson, Ga., led the rest of Thursday's 42-lap Ken Knight Memorial at Modoc Speedway. Overton, scoring his first victory for new team owner James Trantina III, beat Joiner by 2.303 seconds for the $7,542 payday, his first career Schaeffer's Southern Nationals victory.

Quotable: "I felt like I let one go at Harris (Speedway two nights earlier), too. Tonight just felt different, my car was really good, I knew it all night, just kinda messed up in qualifying and worked on it from there," Overton said. "I knew before we went out I was gonna be OK, but I knew Garrett (Smith) was still gonna be pretty good. This is right up Michael (Page’s) alley too, so I knew he was gonna be good. Hey, it worked out for me."

Key notes: Overton led the final 19 laps unchallenged for his fifth victory of the season (and first in Super Late Models). ...
