Rod Conley celebrates his first victory in nearly two years.
What won the race: Inheriting control when race-long pacesetter Zack Dohm retired on lap 24, fourth-starting Rod Conley of Wheelersburg, Ohio, led the final seven laps in capturing Saturday night's third annual Tim Breeding Memorial at 201 Speedway. Conley beat Colten Burdette by 1.333 seconds for the $5,000 payday and his first win in nearly two years.
Key notes: The co-sanctioned event gave Conley his second career Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series victory and his first with the Ultimate Heart of America Series. ... Conley captured his first special event since his $12,000 Iron-Man North Series triumph on June 26, 2021, at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio. ... His last win of any kind was Sept. 15, 2023, the unsanctioned Ike Moler Memorial at Ohio's Moler Raceway Park, worth $3,000. ... Second-starting Zack Dohm, the previous Iron-Man series winner at 201 (June 29, 2018, worth $10,000), led the opening 23 laps from the pole before retiring on lap 24. Dohm was eliminated in one of two cautions that flew on lap 24 (one came on an ensuing restart attempt); he was credited with 19th. ... Polesitter Rusty Schlenk trailed Dohm the opening nine laps before giving way to Conley and Colten Burdette on lap 10. Schlenk slipped as low as seventh before recovering to take fifth from Derek Fisher on the final lap. ... Fisher's sixth-place finish lifted him into the Ultimate HofA points lead. ... Zach Milbee prevailed to finish third after a back-and-forth battle with Adam Stricker in the closing laps. ... Ninth-running Brandon Fouts appeared to draw the opening stoppage when he retired on lap nine. ... The 30-lapper lasted 22 minutes, with 14 starters completing the distance.
On the move: Clint Keenan of Pataskala, Ohio, started 19th and finished 10th.
