Justin Williams heads for victory at Natural Bridge.
What won the race: Inheriting control when leaders Joey Leavell and Logan Roberson were eliminated on lap 26, third-starting Justin Williams of Concord, Va., led the remainder of Saturday's 45-lap Cagle Automotive Blue Ridge Outlaw Series debut at Natural Bridge Speedway. Williams beat Tyler Bare to the line by 1.293 seconds for the $5,000 payday and his first career Blue Ridge series victory.
Quotable: "Lucky for me," Williams said. "I gave one away here a couple of weeks ago because of lapped traffic, and I got this one back."
Key notes: Williams led the final 25 laps for his fourth feature victory this season at Natural Bridge, joining April 26, June 28 and July 12 wins in local action. ... Williams nabbed his fifth career special event at Natural Bridge and his first since June 25, 2022's $10,000 Battle for the Bridge in Steel Block Bandits competition. ... Ninth-starting Tyler Bare, who had moved to fourth by lap 18, inherited second on the lap-26 restart and trailed Williams the rest of the way. Bare topped a local 604 Crate Late Model feature as part of Friday's opening night. ... Dillon Brown grabbed third from Jack Brown on lap 27, with Samuel Bryant taking fourth on the lap-34 restart; the lap-34 yellow came as a result of Walker Arthur slowing, allowing Jack Brown to reclaim fifth. Arthur continued, but settled for 11th, the final starter to complete 45 laps. ... Joey Leavell led the opening 25 laps over Logan Roberson before they were both swept up in a lap-26 incident amid traffic that ended their nights, leaving them 20th and 21st. ... Three incidents slowed the 25-minute feature.
On the move: Samuel Bryant of Fairfield, Va., started 13th and finished fourth.
Winner's sponsors: Williams drives a Longhorn Chassis sponsored by Millers Auto Body, Cash’s Excavating & Hauling, Lewis & Lewis Recycling, All About Doors, WP Racing Shocks by Wesley Page, VP Racing Fuels, Pro Fabrication Exhaust and All About Wraps.
