Colten Burdette and supporters celebrate his second Iron-Man victory.
What won the race: Polesitter Colten Burdette of Parkersburg, W.Va., dominated Saturday's 30-lap feature at Atomic Speedway for a $5,000 Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series victory. Burdette took the checkers 2.151 seconds ahead of series points leader Rusty Schlenk while Clint Keenan finished third.
Key notes: Burdette notched his second career Iron-Man victory; his first came June 27 at Ohio's Limaland Motorsports Park. ... The first of two cautions appeared on the eighth lap for a slowing Darren Kattine. ... On the 21st lap, Seth Daniels shredded a right-rear tire for the second and final yellow flag. ... The event was run on Atomic’s Hall of Fame Night with the track inducting four drivers: Todd Kane, Don Clark, Rodney Vanover and Tim Shoemaker. Late Model star Delmas Conley was posthumously honored with the Legacy Award and the Ambassador Award went to Holdren Construction (Todd, Ronda and Gator).
