Trever Feathers led all but the first lap at Clinton County.
What won the race: Outdueling polesitter Dylan Yoder early, Trever Feathers of Winchester, Va., led all but one lap Saturday at Clinton County Speedway for his second victory on the Bernheisel Racing Components Fall Clash. Feathers pocketed $5,000 in taking the checkers 0.929 of a second ahead of series points leader Mason Zeigler.
Quotable: "I've gotten a lot better at muddy racetracks, but this is kind of my bread and butter," Feathers said. "I think I went maybe half throttle one time. We had a little bit of a miss there — we've got something going on electrical. Maybe at the end three-eighths throttle, maybe half-throttle. I love super slick. You gotta drive 'em. You got to use the steering wheel. You got to use your right foot. Use the left foot. It's all got to be a combination, plus the car's got to be good."
Key notes: Trever Feathers is the first two-time winner on the first-year tour. ... A midrace caution gave winner Feathers clear racetrack as the frontrunners were navigating several slower cars. ... Polesitter Dylan Yoder, who led only the first lap, was running second when he slowed on the 26th lap. ... The race had eight slowdowns, the most serious on a lap-22 restart with seventh-running Jakob Piper (who started 16th) spun with a half-dozen other cars and drew a red flag. It took nearly 10 minutes to put the Rodney Phillips car on a rollback and remove it. ... The first caution appeared on the sixth lap when sixth-running Matt Cochran slipped over the turn-three banking (he did it again on the 21st lap). ... Tristin Neiderer slowed on the frontstretch for a lap-nine caution. ... A caution appeared on the lap-21 restart for debris, and the yellow appeared a lap later when Denny Fenton spun into the turn-one wall. ... Yoder's demise drew the lap-26 yellow. ... A lap-31 caution appeared for a slowing Piper. ... The 40-minute feature concluded at 9:36 p.m. ... The event closed Clinton County's season.
On the move: Spike Moore of Defiance, Pa., started 12th and finished sixth.
