What won the race: Tyler Erb of New Waverly, Texas, overcame a rash of cautions and restarts to pace all 50 laps of Saturday's 19th annual Gumbo Nationals, completing a sweep of Greenville Speedway's two-day event and adding $10,000 for Friday's $5,000 victory. Erb beat Spencer Hughes by 1.644 seconds for his third career Gumbo Nationals finale and ninth career on the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series.
Key notes: Erb led all 90 laps contested over the weekend, earning his fifth Gumbo Nationals victory, adding to $10,000 wins in 2016, '24 and 2018's $4,000 prelim. ... He now has more than $39,000 in event winnings. ... Erb nabbed his 12th overall feature victory of the season. ... Spencer Hughes reclaimed the runner-up spot on a lap-21 restart and finished behind Erb for the second straight night aboard Randy Thompson's No. K3 Longhorn entry. ...
