Key notes: The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series concludes its doubleheader weekend with Saturday’s 50-lap, $25,000-to-win 40th annual Ralph Latham Memorial at Florence Speedway. … The event honors Latham, of Cincinnati, Ohio, a three-decade standout driver who amassed more than 200 victories and multiple track championships; Latham, by all accounts, was a great man, husband, father and racer who died in 1986. … Ricky Thornton Jr. led the final 10 laps in winning Friday’s $15,000 weekend opener at Circle City Raceway. Thornton won the last Latham Memorial on May 6, 2023, after the event rained out the past two years. Thornton also topped 2024’s Spring 50 at Florence, worth $10,000 in Northern Allstars action along with 2023’s FloRacing Series stop, worth $23,023. … Reigning Lucas Oil champ Devin Moran earned a $20,000 victory there last June 28 in Hunt the Front and Northern Allstars co-sanctioned competition.
