What won the race: Scoring his biggest career victory in his West Plains debut, 18-year-old Tyler Kuykendall of Warsaw, Mo., rubbed past Terry Phillips in turns three and four on the final lap for a $3,000 Legit Speedway Park victory on the first-year Heartland Late Model Tour. The eighth-starting Kuykendall got rolling late in the high groove, then dove low into turn three to get by Phillips and lead only the final laps. Phillips, Friday's $3,000 winner, led four laps after overtaking 25-lap leader Sawyer Crigler, who settled for third.
Quotable: “We did all sorts of stuff to this car. The shocks, the J-bar, to everything," Kuykendall said in victory lane. "We just completely redid it after that heat race, and it worked awesome and I’m just glad to be here.”
Key notes: Kuykendall, the son of former Missouri racer T.J. Kuykendall, won his third career Super Late Model feature and first in his home state; he won last season at Salina (Okla.)
