Key notes: Originally scheduled as a tripleheader weekend before Friday’s opener at Davenport (Iowa) Speedway rained out, the Midwest LateModel Racing Association now opens a doubleheader with Saturday’s $5,000-to-win stop at 34 Raceway. … The West Burlington, Iowa, 3/8-mile oval is celebrating its 60th season of competition. … Shannon Bobb of Moweaqua, Ill., won the last MLRA visit to 34 Raceway on April 14, 2023, earning $10,555 in the track’s annual Brent Slocum Memorial event, but he is competing this weekend at Ohio’s Eldora Speedway. … Points leader Tony Jackson Jr. of Lebanon, Mo., swept the March 13-14 season-opening weekend at Springfield (Mo.) Raceway. … Chris Simpson of Oxford, Iowa, topped 2017’s Slocum Memorial at 34, worth $10,555 in the now-defunct Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series. … Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, Ill., has seven 34 Raceway specials going back to July of 2013, but he is also competing at Eldora's Dream XXXII. … Local IMCA Late Models, hobby stocks and mini haulers are on the undercard. … Pits open at 4 p.m. and grandstands open at 5 with hot laps at 6:30. … Watch live on RaceON.
