Key notes: The Repairable Vehicles.com Tri-State Late Model Series concludes its Hawkeye State doubleheader with Saturday’s $3,000-to-win Bill Rice Memorial at Hamilton County Speedway. … Tim Ward, originally of Mesa, Ariz., but now hailing out of Harcourt, Iowa, led all 30 laps in winning Friday’s weekend opener at nearby Hancock County Speedway in Britt, Iowa. Ward earned his first career Late Model victory and the $3,000 payday. … Jordan Yaggy of Rochester, Minn., won last year’s $2,000 Tri-State visit to Hamilton County, but he has not competed in a Late Model since last August. … Justin Zeitner of Malvern, Iowa, the 2021 Tri-State champ, leads all drivers with three series victories thus far. … Points leader and 2022 Tri-State champ Trevor Anderson of Watertown, S.D., won $1,500 on May 15 at nearby Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa. … Modifieds, stock cars, B-mods, hobby stocks and Crown Vics are on the undercard. … Pits open at 4 p.m. and grandstands open at 5 with hot laps at 7.
