Winner Tim McCreadie is flanked by runner-up Bobby Pierce (32) and third-finishing Nick Hoffman (right).
What won the race: Tim McCreadie of Watertown, N.Y., thrilled from the 12th-starting spot to lead the final eight of 50 laps en route to Sunday's World of Outlaws Real American Late Model Series victory at Nodak Speedway in Minot, N.D. Bobby Pierce finished second, 1.443 seconds behind McCreadie, whose winning move came on lap 43 in a three-wide battle under race-long leader Ethan Dotson.
Quotable: "As we ran, we kept having restarts and I realized I could hook the middle (in turns) one and two, and if I had to go to the guardrail and three and four on the inside," McCreadie said. "We were just really maneuverable."
Key notes: Losing brakes from a lap-eight dustup with Drake Troutman, Bobby Pierce said “it was a miracle” he finished second in the 50-lapper. Pierce believes he “would’ve won by half a racetrack” if he weren't racing without brakes the final 42 laps. … Five cautions slowed the running: Lap 13 for 13th-running Tristan Chamberlain, who spun off the banking in turn two; the lap-13 restart for 17th-running Aaron Turnbull, who spun in turn two; lap 26 for eighth-running Dustin Sorensen, who slowed with a flat right-rear tire; the lap-26 restart for fourth-running Brian Shirley, who spun off the turn-two banking to avoid a potential collision with Bobby Pierce; and lap 36 for 17th-running Laela Eisenschenk, whose Donny Schatz-owned No. 15 went up in smoke. … Nick Hoffman couldn’t complete the weekend sweep but he finished third in a feature where he pulled off a two-for-one move on the lap-13 restart that powered him from seventh to fifth. … Brent Larson rebounded to finish ninth after changing right-rear tires under the first lap-13 caution. … Dustin Sorensen and a lucky fan split $1,000 for winning a cornhole bags tournament after the top-four redraw. … It was the Outlaws first race at the Minot, N.D., 3/8 mile since Billy Moyer and Mitch Johnson split victories there in 1989.
On the move: Race winner Tim McCreadie started 12th.
Winner's sponsors: McCreadie’s Briggs Transport Longhorn Chassis is powered by a Clements Racing Engine and sponsored by Dave Warren Auto Center, Excess Storage, Corry Rubber, Briggs Transport, Meridien Hardwoods, Valvoline, Sherlock Racing Enterprises, VP Racing Fuels, Bilstein Shocks, ASi Racewear, Performance Bodies, Trans 58, On Time Body Graphics and Night Owl Design.
