What won the race: Driving underneath Brandon Overton in turns one and two on lap seven, outside front row starter Ashton Winger of Hampton, Ga., led the rest of Saturday’s Billy Clanton Classic at Senoia Raceway for his fifth career World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series victory. Winger claimed $15,000 ahead of runner-up Tim McCreadie.
Key notes: Winger's win marked a repeat with the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series at the Georgia oval after capturing the tour's last event on Oct. 2, 2021. ... Trey Mills of St. Augustine, Fla., retired during a lap-46 caution with left-front suspension damage after getting pinched into the backstretch wall while running fourth. ... Pole-starting Brandon Overton of Evans, Ga., paced the race's opening six circuits before fading to seventh at the finish. ... 21-year-old Payton Stevenson of High Falls, Ga., made his Super Late Model debut and was second in his time-trial group, but ended up sixth in his heat race and didn't transfer out of his B-Main.
On the move: Ethan Dotson of Bakersfield, Calif., started 11th and finished third.
Winner's sponsors: Winger’s Jeff Mathews Motorsports Rocket Chassis is powered by an Andy Durham Racing Engine and carries sponsorship from RV Select Inc., CURS, Super K Express, Keyser Manufacturing, Integra Shocks, Angry Elephant Tattoo and Piercing, FK Rod Ends, A-Plus Collision Center, Hoosier Tire, Simpson Race Products, Collins Signs, DirtCarLift.com, VP Race Fuels, CSR Aluminum Fabrication, Boswell Oil and WrapTech.
