What won the race: Taking command when Kyle Strickler retired from the lead on the 15th lap, sixth-starting Kyle Bronson of Brandon, Fla., paced the final 36 circuits of Saturday's unsanctioned Super Late Model feature, earning his second straight $10,000 payday at East Alabama Motor Speedway. Bronson beat early leader Dalton Cook to the checkers by 1.701 seconds for his second feature victory this season.
Key notes: Bronson's previous victory was July 26 ($10,000) which snapped a near 16-month winless drought. ... His last three wins have all come at EAMS, including April 6, 2024, worth $10,053 on the Schaeffer's Spring Nationals. ... Mark Whitener took second from Dalton Cook on lap 34 and trailed Bronson until retiring on the 40th lap. Whitener was credited with ninth. ... The second-starting Cook, of Smiths Station, Ala., led the opening three laps before slipping as low as third, then chasing Bronson the final 10 laps after Whitener was eliminated. Cook extends his points lead after Montana Dudley retired from fifth on lap 24. ... Josh Putnam and J.R. Moseley both improved five positions to finish third and fourth, respectively. ... Kyle Strickler led laps 4-14 until he retired along with Garrett Smith on the 15th lap. They were credited with 12th and 13th. ... The 36-minute race was the sixth and final five-figure payday scheduled this season for unsanctioned Supers, though another is expected in Nov. 1-2's National 100 at EAMS.
