Heat race recap
Devin Moran won the first heat after overtaking Cory Hedgecock on the sixth lap. ... The lone caution in the first heat came on the third lap when Josh Rice got into the wall. ... Thursday's feature winner Brandon Sheppard dominated the second heat from the pole. ... Rebounding from hitting the wall in hot laps, Chris Madden won a back-and-forth duel with Carson Ferguson to capture the third heat. Ferguson led laps five and six. ... When polesitter Hudson O'Neal got too high in turn three on the first lap, Mark Whitener took command, then won a back-and-forth duel with fellow home-stater Clay Harris for a home-state victory. ... Harris, who survived contact from Whitener in the third turn just past halfway, led the fifth and sixth laps and finished second ahead of O'Neal. ... Tyler Bruening hit the turn-three wall hard, ending his fourth heat early. ... Moments later in a Crate Late Model heat, a Whitener-Harris front row set up another battle between the Floridians.
