What won the race: Polesitter Cody Overton of Evans, Ga., led all 50 laps unchallenged to win Saturday's $15,000 Winter Freeze XV at Screven Motor Speedway, beating Ethan Dotson to the line handily for his first career Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series victory in the fledgling tour's second event. Overton notched his second career Super Late Model triumph and his first since a $5,000 Drydene Xtreme DIRTcar Series payday Feb. 25, 2022, at Lavonia (Ga.) Speedway.

I have the best people in the industry helping me and it definitely takes all of them to do it,” a choked up Overton said. “It means a lot. Racing with all these guys, I mean, Casey (Roberts) is like a longtime hero of mine and racing with him and John (Henderson), he’s one of my biggest supporters … it’s a dream come true honestly, I feel like I’ve worked my ass off to do this and it’s finally paying.”

Jackson Hise spun from fifth in the third heat, collecting Ray Cook who was piloting a No. 27 Joe Denby-owned entry. Hise's fuel cell leaked following the hard contact and a 20-minute red flag ensued as track officials cleared the wreckage and burned the spilled gas; Hise and Cook were OK.
