Jesse Glenz and his team in victory lane at Red Cedar.
What won the race: Making a third-to-first move on the lap-25 restart, Jesse Glenz of Chippewa Falls, Wis., led the rest of Friday's 40-lap Structural Buildings WISSOTA Challenge Series feature at Red Cedar Speedway for a $3,000 payday. Glenz captured his fifth career series victory in taking the checkers ahead of front-row starters Ashley Anderson and Cory Crapser, both who led while seeking their first series victories. Anderson pressured Glenz in the closing laps, falling 0.408 of a second shy at the checkers.
Key notes: Glenz won on the series for the first time since Aug. 29, 2021, at Granite City Motor Park in Sauk Rapids, Minn. ... Glenz's Red Cedar victory followed his career-richest $10,555 payday July 19 at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., for winning the non-touring Duane Mahder Memorial. ... Polesitter Ashley Anderson led laps 5-24 while Cory Crapser led the first four laps. ... Two cautions slowed the action, first Todd Frank on the fifth lap. ... A lap-24 yellow flag also appeared. .....Crapser, who fell short of his first WISSOTA Challenge victory, was gunning for his 250th overall dirt racing victory. ... Gunner Frank scratched from the feature.
On the move: James Giossi of Hudson, Wis., started 11th and finished sixth.
