What won the race: Polesitter Jason Jameson of Lawrenceburg, Ind., led all 30 laps in Friday's 18th annual Ike Moler Memorial in Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series action at Moler Raceway Park. Earning $5,000, Jameson beat Adam Stricker to the checkers by 1.830 seconds for his second Iron-Man Series victory this season and fifth of his career.
Key notes: Jameson nabbed his third feature victory this season. ... His other Iron-Man triumph came in July 3's $10,000 4B4EVER 40 at Kentucky's Mudlick Valley Raceway. ... Fifth-starting Adam Stricker inherited second on the lap-21 restart and trailed Jameson the final 10 laps, but never seriously challenged for the lead. ... Stricker took over the runner-up spot when Josh Rice retired on lap 21, drawing the race's lone caution flag. ... Rusty Schlenk, winner of the last two Iron-Man Series races entering Friday's action, started and finished third. ... James Rice finished fourth aboard the Seth Daniels Racing No. s21 Rocket (Daniels is out with a broken hand). ... Devin Gilpin (lap 21), Austin Lay (lap 19) and Tommy Pribble (lap four) joined Josh Rice as early retirees. ... The event honored Victor “Ike” Moler, who shares the track's namesake. ... The 30-lapper lasted 11 minutes with 11 starters completing the distance and 19 running at the finish.
On the move: Runner-up Adam Stricker of Batavia, Ohio, started fifth.
Winner's sponsors: Jameson’s JRR Motorsports Longhorn Chassis is sponsored by Grant Lee Farms, MGL Auto Sales, JRR Trucking, Keltner Contracting and Auto Outlet.
