What won the race: Second-starting Scott Ward of Watertown, S.D., led all 40 laps in securing his first career Repairable Vehicles.com Tri-State Late Model Series victory Saturday at his hometown Casino Speedway. Ward beat fellow Watertown resident Trevor Anderson by 1.086 seconds for the $3,000 payday, his third special event victory this season and second at Casino.

Key notes: Ward nabbed his fifth major event victory at Casino since June 8, 2014, earning more than $13,000 over that span. ... Sixth-starting Trevor Anderson inherited second place when polesitter Josh Skorczewski retired on lap 34 and cut Ward's lead by more than six tenths of a second in the final stages. ... Skorczewski, going for the Tri-State weekend sweep after topping Friday's $2,000 opener at Miller (S.D.) Central Speedway, trailed Ward for all but two of the race's opening 33 laps before retiring.
