Mason Zeigler earned his third straight Burket Tribute Labor Day victory.
What won the race: Polesitter Mason Zeigler of Chalk Hill, Pa., led all the way in Friday's Turk Burket Tribute Labor Day 55 at Bedford Speedway to win the inaugural Bernheisel Race Components Fall Clash feature. Zeigler pocketed $12,055 in dominating at the half-mile oval, taking the checkers over Hall of Famer Rick Eckert.
Quotable: "The car was flawless," Zeigler said. "I mean, (crew chief) Bryan (Liverman) did an incredible job. He made a tire call there (before the race) that I really didn't agree with. It ended up being the right call. And I didn't put a scratch on it until I was pulling off the racetrack right there. I didn't realize that guy was turning in and I was coming around to the scales, but it got the quarterpanel a little bit."
Key notes: Zeigler won the Labor Day 55 for the third straight season and record fourth time overall. ... He also picked up $200 for fast time and $100 for a dash victory. ... Zeigler's biggest scrape came after the race's conclusion when he made contact with Tim Smith Jr.'s car heading for the scales. Smith appeared to pull into the infield abruptly, causing Zeigler’s quarterpanel to strike his left front. ... Ninth-starting Jeff Rine's third-place finish clinched another Bedford track title. ... In the feature, three cautions slowed the action, the first for a tangle between Gregg Satterlee and Jakob Piper. ... Satterlee finished seventh without a left-front nosepiece. ... Piper slowed to draw the second caution on the 39th lap. ... On the 29th lap, Dylan Yoder appeared to make heavy contact with the turn-one wall and required a tow back to the pits. ... The series was scheduled for two weekend events, but Selinsgrove (Pa.) Speedway dropped Fall Clash sanctioning for Aug. 31 and Sept. 12-13 races (the fledgling tour picked up a Sept. 12 event at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, N.Y.).
On the move: Ninth-starting Jeff Rine of Danville, Pa., finished third.
