Zach Milbee picks up a $5,000 paycheck at Lernerville Speedway.
What won the race: Going around polesitter Corey DeLancey exiting turn four on the eighth lap, sixth-starting Zach Milbee of Poca, W.Va., led the rest of the way in turning back late challenges from Russell Erwin to capture Saturday's Hillbilly 50 to cap the Burlile Ohio Valley Late Model Series weekend debut at Lernerville Speedway. Milbee pocketed $5,000 in taking the checkers 0.631 of a second ahead of Erwin, winner of Friday's $2,500 weekend opener at Lernerville.
Quotable: "I saw (Russell Erwin) peep his nose right there, and I, I knew I told myself I just gotta keep it straight. That's all I can do," Milbee said. "My stick guy moved me around and stuff like that, and I can't do it without him."
Key notes: Zach Milbee has three 2025 series victories and a series-leading 30 in his career. ... Runner-up Russell Erwin nearly pulled alongside Milbee on the frontstretch in the final laps, but Milbee edged back ahead. ... Corey DeLancey led the first seven laps, but he fell from contention after a wild scramble for second sent his car spinning on a lap-31 restart. DeLancey had been mixing it up with Taylor Puckett and went around after contact with Erwin. ... Besides the stoppage for DeLancey, two cautions slowed the action, the first when front-row starter Demetrios Drellos spun in turn four on the opening lap. ... On the 31st lap, John Melvin jumped the cushion. ... Steven Dotson subbed in the Derek Rogers ride for the main event, starting on the tail. ... The OVS debut at Lernerville came on the undercard of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series portion of the Hillbilly Hundred won by Ricky Thornton Jr.
On the move: Logan Zarin of Hookstown, Pa., started 14th and finished seventh.
