What won the race: Winning his first Structural Buildings WISSOTA Challenge Series feature, hub-hugging Kevin Eder of Cameron, Wis., raced from his 11th starting spot Saturday to a $3,000 Bill Engelstad Labor Day Shootout victory at Hibbing Speedway. Eder raced under Jeff Provinzino on the 28th lap and led the rest of the 40-lapper, winning by 3.668 seconds over Provinzino, who led laps 24-27. Shane Sabraski settled for third after leading 23 laps.
Quotable: "I don't know if I have fans here or drinking buddies because we have done nothing here," Eder said. "I don't even think we've won a heat race here in 20 years, so it's absolutely amazing. I think the first (WISSOTA) Challenge series (race) I was ever in I almost won, and it's been all downhill since, so just happy to have stuck it out this year and happy to be running with Shane, Dave and Jeff, great competitors."
Key notes: Kevin Eder celebrated with a donut heading for victory lane. ... Hibbing concludes the tour's five-race Labor Day weekend with Sunday's $3,000-to-win finale. ...
