Jonathan Davenport takes the checkers for the second straight night.
What won the race: Joining fellow Georgian Dale McDowell as a two-time World 100 semifeature winner, Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga., led all the way in the second 25-lap preliminary for another $12,000 payday. The outside front-row starter raced to victory without serious challenge, taking the checkers 1.340 seconds ahead of polesitter Nick Hoffman.
Quotable: "I kept trying to watch the (video) board. I really didn't know where to be at for sure or who was close to me. I never did really hear anybody but that that don't mean nothing anymore I don't guess," Davenport said. "Anyway, just, once again, thanks to my crew. They've done an excellent job."
Key notes: Jonathan Davenport, a $12,000 winner on Thursday as well, raised his overall Eldora victory total to 26 triumphs. ... He notched his 15th victory of the season (and fourth at Eldora). ... Chris Madden, who finished second to Davenport in Thursday's prelim, made a 20th-to-10th charge. ... The 25-lapper raced caution free with 17 drivers finishing on the lead lap. ... The previous semifeature concluded about 9:30 p.m., but unexpected light rain briefly delayed the start of the second 25-lapper until nearly 10 p.m. ... Mike Marlar dropped to the tail of the feature for the start of the race. ... Accumulated driver points from Thursday and Friday set heat race lineups for Saturday's action, which is capped by the $72,000-to-win World 100.
On the move: Cade Dillard of Robeline, La., started 13th and finished seventh.
Winner's sponsors: Davenport’s Double L Motorsports Longhorn Chassis carries sponsorship from Nutrien Ag Solutions, ASC Warranty, Dynagro Seed, Mark Martin Automotive, Mega Plumbing & HVAC, Bobcat of Batesville, Bert Transmissions by Budda, Lucas Oil, Hoosier Racing Tire, VP Racing Fuels, Bilstein Shocks and Midwest Sheet Metal.
Points chase: Final World 100 preliminary points: 1. Nick Hoffman (976); 2. Brandon Sheppard (961); 3. Dale McDowell (952); 4. Cory Hedgecock (949(); 5. Devin Moran (943); 6. Garrett Alberson (943); 7. Bobby Pierce (925); 8. Carson Ferguson (925); 9. Hudson O'Neal (922); 10. Chris Madden (919).
