What won the race: Sliding by race-long leader Matt Cosner as he was mired in lapped traffic, eighth-starting Gregg Satterlee of Indiana, Pa., led the final 10 laps of Saturday's 33-lap 22nd annual Butch Renninger Memorial at Port Royal Speedway. Satterlee beat Cosner by 3.096 seconds for the $7,333 payday, his sixth career Renninger Memorial victory and fourth 2025 victory at Port Royal.
Quotable: “First off, thanks to Port Royal and the Renninger family for having this race every year, it’s always a fun race to come and support,” Satterlee said. “I think the first time we ever came to Port Royal was for this race and won it, so it’s always been a fun event to come back to and support.”
Key notes: Satterlee's sixth career Renninger Memorial (2012, '16, '21-'23, '25) further extends his own record as the winningest driver in event history. ... His three other Port Royal victories came April 19 and Aug. 16 in local Super Late Model competition, along with June 7's Appalachian Mountain Speedweek stop en route to his second straight miniseries title. ... Satterlee secured his 10th overall feature win this season. ... Second-starting Matt Cosner led the opening 23 laps before Satterlee slipped by him in heavy lapped traffic. Cosner attempted to slide back by Satterlee in turn three of the same lap before fading back at the checkers. ... Track points leader Rick Eckert started and finished third. ... The race's lone caution came on the eighth lap when Tyler Bare slowed from 11th and retired. He was credited with 25th. ... The event, which was held on opening night of the 171st annual Juniata County Fair, honored Howard D. “Butch” Renninger Jr. of Mifflintown, Pa., a 41-time feature winner and three-time track champion at Port Royal. Renninger died on May 1, 2004, at the age of 62. ... The 33-lapper lasted 15 minutes with 17 starters completing the distance.
On the move: Dylan Yoder of Middleburg, Pa., started 16th and finished eighth.
