Hudson O'Neal (6) and Tyler Carpenter (28) battle for the lead.
What won the race: Leading 63 of 100 laps, Hudson O'Neal of Martinsville, Ind., kept the Kevin Rumley-owned No. 6 machine ahead of Tyler County Speedway's strong contingent of regular competitors for Sunday's $20,000 victory in the inaugural Country Roads 100. O'Neal topped midrace leader Tyler Carpenter by 1.976 seconds.
Quotable: "Tyler got me in lapped traffic early. I was a little bit nervous in trying to get back around him," O'Neal said. "I just, the more I told myself to slow down, and, you know, it's a long race. Thankfully we were able to get back by him in some traffic before we got to lap 50. Then I was able to start out there by myself. Yeah, it was a really good race. Tyler and I ran really close right there for a long time. The lapped traffic for sure made it interesting."
Key notes: O'Neal notched his ninth victory of 2025 and second with the K&L Rumley Enterprises team in addition to Jan. 28's Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series triumph at Georgia's Needmore Speedway. ... Carpenter was the only other leader of 100-lap feature, pacing laps 10-46. The home-state driver made his move for the lead by sliding O'Neal on lap 10, pulling away off turn four when he beat O'Neal to the top rounding the frontstretch to take the 11th circuit. ... O'Neal's Rumley-owned No. 6 came to life following the lap-35 restart for Drake Troutman's flat right-rear tire as he overtook Carpenter for good on lap 46, four laps before the scheduled lap-50 caution where competitors were allowed to change right-rear tires and make car adjustments. ... The Country Roads 100 filled a void left by the vacated Hillbilly Hundred, the Carl Short-promoted event that ran Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned from 2016-24 until it was moved to Lernerville Speedway this year. ... Friday's $2,000 winner Ryan Montgomery of Fairmont, W.Va., started ninth and finished third, 0.090 seconds behind Carpenter. ... Luke Morey, originally from Zeeland, Mich., but now residing in North Carolina, took Saturday's $3,000 victory at Tyler County and finished seventh in Sunday's feature. ... Greg Oakes of Franklinville, N.Y., rallied to finish fifth following a lap-17 spin. ... Seven stoppages slowed the hour-plus-long feature: Lap 17 for Oakes, who spun out of 12th in turn two; lap 20 for 21st-running Levi Yetter, who slowed off turn four with rear-end damage; lap 35 for fourth-running Troutman’s flat right-rear tire; the lap-50 scheduled competition caution; lap 72 for a multicar incident; lap 74 for Travis Brown’s spin; and lap 77 for a two-car tangle involving 14th-running Corey Miller and 17th-running Brian Baumberger.
On the move: Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., started 11th and finished fourth.
