What won the race: Leading all 35 laps from outside the front row, Ross Robinson of Georgetown, Del., notched his second victory of the season (and second in six days) with a $10,063 Paul Long Memorial triumph at Selinsgrove Speedway. Robinson's first five-figure payday came by 2.122 seconds over fellow front-row starter Hayes Mattern with Rick Eckert third in the Super Late Model special.
Key notes: Robinson's previous victory came Tuesday in the Camp Barnes Benefit at his hometown Georgetown Speedway; the former Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series regular earned $5,500 for the hometown triumph. ... Fast qualifier Mason Zeigler retired after 12 laps with a flat tire while running second; third-running Jeff Rine was out after 17 laps. ... Three cautions slowed the action (laps six, 13 and 18), including one for a pileup on a restart that eliminated Gene Knaub, Spike Moore and Andrew Yoder. ... The Paul Long Memorial honors the late driver who claimed 32 victories at Selinsgrove and track championships in 1966 and ’73. Long raced for nearly 25 years in a career that spanned from 1955-79. ... Long family members drove the pace truck, waved the initial green flag and piloted a throwback Long race car at the start of the 35-lap feature. ... The event was originally part of the first-year Fall Clash, but Selinsgrove dropped the sanctioning of the Aug. 31 and Sept. 12-13 events. ... Hall of Fame racer Rick Eckert of York, Pa., leads the track's Super Late Model points chase. ... Zeigler picked up a $500 fast qualifier award from Creekside Auto Sales and Fast Tees. ... Lane Snook won the Limited Late Model feature, his 15th overall victory of the season.
On the move: Dylan Yoder of Middleburg, Pa., started 15th and finished sixth.
