Trever Feathers in Kutztown's Super Late Model debut.
What won the race: Fighting off late-race pressure from Mason Zeigler, second-starting Trever Feathers of Winchester, Va., led all 60 laps of Sunday's Bernheisel Racing Components Fall Clash Series debut at Action Track USA. Feathers beat Zeigler by 2.047 seconds for the $6,000 payday, his first career win on the first-year Fall Clash tour and second feature victory this season.
Quotable: “Once down the backstretch I kinda got a little high off of (turn) two and I stayed in (the throttle) and just kinda climbed up (the wall) a little bit, not too bad,” Feathers said. “That’s very minimal from what I thought (the right-rear damage) was gonna be. What a racetrack man, that place is 60 laps on the wood as hard as you can go, it’s kinda unreal.”
Key notes: Feathers added to his local Super Late Model win July 3 at Potomac (Md.) Speedway, worth $4,515. ... It's his first major event since Oct. 7, 2023, a $3,500 unsanctioned special at Lincoln (Pa.) Speedway. ... Polesitter Mason Zeigler trailed Feathers the entire way, cutting his advantage as low as 0.544 of a second with 11 laps to go, before Feathers pulled away at the checkers. ... Bryan Bernheisel started and finished third. ... Amanda Robinson took fourth from Trevor Collins on the second lap; Collins settled for fifth, the first starter one lap down. ... The race's lone caution flew on the 38th lap when Trent Merkel slowed; he continued a handful more laps before retiring. ... Ross Robinson retired from seventh on lap 16 and was credited with 11th. ... Coined as the first Late Model event at the Kutztown, Pa., fifth-mile, the 60-lapper lasted 16 minutes with seven starters running at the finish.
On the move: Dave Stamm of Millmont, Pa., started 10th and finished seventh.
