Max Blair celebrates a sweep of Stateline's Fall Brawl.
What won the race: Winning a duel between Stateline Speedway's best drivers of the generation, fourth-starting Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., regained the lead from Dave Hess Jr. on the 40th lap to capture Saturday's $10,318 Fall Brawl finale. Blair, who started fourth and led laps 26-29 and then 40-50, beat Hess to the checkers by 1.330 seconds for a sweep of Stateline's weekend doubleheader.
Key notes: Blair added to Friday's $3,000 preliminary night triumph and a RUSH Crate Late Model feature on Saturday's undercard. ... It was his seventh Stateline victory this season, including July 5's $10,318 payday also in unsanctioned action. ... Blair has run an independent schedule since dropping off the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series around midseason. ... Dave Hess Jr., who led 35 of the first 39 laps, was chasing his second five-figure payday this weekend after topping Friday's $10,000 United Late Model Series-Fall Clash co-sanctioned event at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, N.Y. ...
